Phonemic Awareness
Good morning! I have a cute activity to teach phonemic awareness that I am doing with my class this week. I am using a tongue twister! How fun is this? I learned about using tongue twisters at a workshop I went to last year. I also do something similar with my student of the week. I take the child's name and get the students to replace sounds in the child's name. They all get a good giggle out of it. Here is an example. If the student of the week is Ben, I say "Let's take off the B and add an H". I also get them to change the middle and ending sounds too. "Take off the E and add an A".

First Freebie!
I am very excited to offer my first freebie! This freebie is a reading response form! You can use this with any text. It is a story map that your students can either draw or write their answer. I encourage my students to do BOTH (even if it is just invented spelling). I hope you find this useful in your classroom!
